Dear visitors,

I have to admit that Cancer Research Charity shops have officially an excellent selection of bargains on a Saturday afternoon!!! I spent a wonderfully pleasant afternoon browsing through their items and came home with 3 beautiful books!!!

The first one is a delightful 1983 cookbook written by Brian Binns for the glorious price of 0.75!! It has a multitude of wonderful recipes amongst of which Almond cake sounds delightful.

The Sainsbury Book of Teatime Favourites

It is so wonderfully written and the recipes will be really easy to make. Expect new yummy rewards for you all to come from this book!!

The second delightful bargain was

Mary Rose's 1001 More Country Household Hints

It is the sweetest book I have found with all kinds of handy tips from cooking to DIY and the most charming poems and proverbs to go with it for the glorious price of £0.75!!! My favourite is the following:  A little tomato who knows her onions can go out with an old potato and come home with a lot of lettuce and a couple of carats

There are many more pearls of wisdom in it along with what to do on not to get cracks on your freshly baked cake!!!

The third gem of the day was a  1972 Jane Austen biography written by Elizabeth Perkins!! It is the most interesting book and I have already finished a whole chapter of it!! For example I never knew that one of Jane Austen's relations was married to a French Comte who lost his head during the French Revolution!!! It is amazing where anything French goes into!!!

One of the most pleasurable buys of the day were my ramekins!! I will make the following delightful dessert!! And what is best of all I will already mention my original inspiration for it. Of course, I will use my favourite chocolate of all times (Lindt Excellence Orange Intense!!!) and keep the other ingredients the same if I do not change my mind later!!! We will see!!! In the meantime, enjoy and we can compare notes if you have made the recipe before I have!!!

Chocolate Fondant!!!Do admire the picture that was on the original blog!! Of course my version of this chocolate heaven is soon to follow!!!

Thank you all for sharing my afternoon adventures with me!!And Happy Baking of course the French way!!!
